| RiosBrook Foundation Has a Two Fold Purpose |
Bridging the gap between the pulpit and the pew by equiping pastors to engage working people in the redemption of the marketplace and culture.
Aiding working people to see their vocations as a high and holy calling in the workplace to affect the redemption of the economic and power systems that govern the affairs of the world.
| Linda Rios Brook Speaks From the Heart |
Ideas have consequences.
Western evangelicalism may be nearing a crisis as church attendance decreases while more and more dissatisfied Christians drop out of organized religion. While many acknowledge that there is a "church" in the marketplace, the church at work was never intended to replace the church on the corner. The future of western Christianity depends upon an undivided kingdom between the nuclear and extended churches.
It is our impression that marketplace people often feel abandoned and disenfranchised from the church and have little to no understanding of the relationship God desires with them through the work and gifts He has given them. A great many Pastors are not equipped to address their concerns because they do not know the rules of engagement in the marketplace.
Those of us who are seen as leaders of the marketplace transformation movement are not prophets and most of us do not pretend to be. We are working people who have spent most of our lives as "kings." But now God has transitioned us for a season into being the "priest" to help other working people see their jobs and/or careers as a valid form of ministry equal to the five fold gifts of the nuclear church.
The RiosBrook Foundation seeks to bridge the gap between the pulpit and the pew by enabling pastors to better understand and equip people to see themselves as strategic instruments in God's hands for the redemption of the mind molders of culture: religion, family, commerce, arts and media, government, education, science and technology.
Where error can occur is when spiritual leaders convince business people to turn their businesses into churches. God is not trying to build more churches in the marketplace. He is trying to restore righteousness and justice to the marketplace and bring about the redemption of culture. RiosBrook Foundation believes He intends to do this through working people who receive the revelation that their calling is not to change the church; but rather, to change the world by bringing the purposes of God into the economic and power systems that govern it.
